Jerry Henderson

Jerry has written advisories, authored code change proposals, worked developing installation standards and permitting processes, served as a technical advisor and industry representative on codes and standards committees, and developed and delivered trainings since 1992. His 25+ years of experience as an installation contractor provides a platform from which to discuss code, design, and installation requirements at several different levels and adds a great depth of experience in real world applications.

Ryan Mayfield

Ryan Mayfield has been working in the renewable energy field since 1999 and is the President of Renewable Energy Associates, a consulting firm providing design, support and educational services for electrical contractors, architectural and engineering firms, manufacturers and government agencies. Ryan serves as Photovoltaic Systems Technical Editor for SolarPro magazine, regularly authoring feature articles in SolarPro and Home Power magazines and authored PV Design and Installation for Dummies. Ryan was also a contributor and video team member for Mike Holt’s, Understanding the NEC Requirements for Solar Photovoltaic Systems.

He is a Certified Master Trainer (from the Institute for Sustainable Power and Quality) for the PV course he teaches at Lane Community College. Ryan also teaches various PV courses across the nation for electricians, existing solar professionals, code officials, inspectors and individuals looking to join the solar industry. Class topics include National Electrical Code and PV systems, commercial PV systems, introduction to PV systems, preparation for the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) Entry Level Exam and NABCEP’s Certified PV installer test. Ryan holds a Limited Renewable Energy Technician (LRT) license in Oregon, is an Oregon Solar Energy Industries Association (OSEIA) board member and chairs the state’s LRT apprenticeship committee.


Steve Sefchick

Steve Sefchick

Steve Sefchick has been working in the solar industry for 15 years in both manufacturing and installation companies. Throughout his career he has held a variety of positions including instructor, sales person, designer, project manager, installer, inspector, operation and maintenance, module quality & reliability and forensic analyst. His boots on the ground experience ranges from small off-grid projects to utility scale projects. Steve currently holds a Limited Renewable Technician (LRT) license in the state of Oregon. He has volunteered as a Standard Technical Panel Member for the UL and is currently an OSEIA board member.

Sean White

Sean White was on the NABCEP PV Installer Exam Committee and helped author the NABCEP PV Installer Task Analysis. His courses qualify for all levels of NABCEP PV credits. He is a registered NABCEP Associate exam provider. Sean White was awarded the 2014 Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) Renewable Energy Trainer of the year. He has taught and certified many thousands of students throughout the world in 20 different countries. Sean authored the books Solar Photovoltaic Basics, Solar PV Engineering and Installation and Solar PV Technical Sales for Routledge Publishing. He is also writing two other books.
